Courtney fell in love with art when she was six years old and at that time her dream career changed from being a cowgirl to being an art teacher. She gained a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Ara Institute of Canterbury and then a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning at Canterbury University. She now eaches Toi Ataata, Visual Arts in the secondary hapori at Haeata Community Campus. All her skulls are one-offs and handmade and painted.
