About Us
Pier People began in the seaside suburb of New Brighton, Ōtautahi.
It was founded in 2013 by a New Brighton local, who envisioned a brand that the community would get behind and represent with pride.
As the community support grew, Pier People began to give back by sponsoring local skateboarders, surfers and events.
Now, as Pier People moves into the next phase with new ownership, a brick and mortar store, and a wider range of products, we still hold the original vision - supporting local brands, local artists and local people.
